Erin Cressy, lcswa
Erin is a queer-identified therapist and licensed social worker offering individual and group therapy in person in Durham, NC, and virtually throughout North Carolina. With an MSW from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work and a BA in Theater from Southwestern University, Erin brings both clinical expertise and creative presence to the therapy space.
Drawing from psychodynamic, humanistic, and relational approaches, Erin supports clients through major life transitions, identity and values exploration, and the complexities of both internal struggles and interpersonal relationships. Her practice centers LGBTQ+ adults and is grounded in deep knowledge of chronic illness and disability, grief and loss, consensual non-monogamy, and queer sexuality and kink.
Erin’s work is guided by the principles of disability justice and liberation psychology. She invites clients to understand their emotional challenges not as personal shortcomings, but as adaptive and meaningful responses to a world that doesn’t always offer safety or support. Her goal is to help you reconnect with your inherent wisdom, feel seen in your full complexity, and move toward healing that aligns with your truth.
If you're looking for a supportive, affirming space to process emotions, explore who you are, and build a life rooted in your values, you're invited to schedule a free, no-pressure consultation call with Erin to see if working together feels like a good fit.
